Outside and inside space

Children 'penned in' outdoors

The amount of space children are allowed to roam, explore and play in, unsupervised, has reduced by 90% since the 1970’s. Put this against the amount of time children can roam, explore and play in virtual spaces, unsupervised and I wonder what effect this is having now and in the future.

A nationally representative study found that the average American 8-to-18 years old play video games for 13.2 hours per week.

Sometimes I can just feel my timing is off, like I’ve forgotten something and can’t remember what I was suppose to remember in the first place. It’s a vagueness a soft, slow cotton wool in the brain or doing something and it just not feeling right. As opposed to when there’s an ease, a quickness or slickness to whatever I’m doing or the way I’m thinking. One thing follows on from another. It’s not clunky. It’s not a crisis or an excitement it’s just not quite right.
